Therapeutic Intervention
Children and young people who have experienced trauma can benefit from therapeutic intervention to support their processing, understanding and healing. Trauma can include experiencing loss and bereavement, changes in family circumstances, adverse childhood experiences (ACES), social difficulties and mental health needs. Therapeutic intervention can support young people to develop self-efficacy, self-esteem, social competencies, emotional regulation and healthy coping strategies. Therapeutic intervention uses therapeutic psychological approaches during one to one psychology sessions. These can take place at home or at school.
